‘College students are getting their warped moral sense from tenured instructors.’
"An October Harvard Caps/Harris poll shows that 51% of those ages 18 to 24 think the Hamas massacre of Oct. 7 can be justified by Palestinian grievances. Sahar Tartak and Netanel Crispe in “Jewish Students Meet Hostility at Yale” (op-ed, Nov. 8) identify one explanation of this horrifying result by listing the many departments at Yale University openly hostile to Israel. A similar list of departments at my campus would include Asian-American studies, Chicana and Chicano studies, gender, sexuality and women’s studies, Middle East-South Asian studies, the department of cinema and digital media, Native American studies and American studies.
Pollsters should ask faculty in “studies” departments across the country if the Oct. 7 attack was justified. The result would be far worse than for the 18-24 cohort. College students are getting their warped moral sense from tenured instructors.
