Bauer Hockey shares face shield design for healthcare workers

"Earlier this week, Bauer announced that they will be creating face shields for medical professionals. The Canadian-founded hockey manufacturer repurposed their facility in Blainville, Quebec and designed a face mask so that “medical professionals battling COVID-19 can safely continue to help those most vulnerable.”

One of the products that the company designs are visors and facemasks that are used for facial protection on hockey helmets.

Tory Mazzola, a spokesperson for Bauer, says that since the initiative went public, they received hundreds of requests from healthcare workers to place orders.

Now, the hockey company has decided to share the manufacturing instructions for the mask and they’re encouraging other companies to start producing them as well.

“The company decided to proactively publish the manufacturing instructions, designs and supplier info to encourage other manufacturing companies to begin production of these critical safety products,” says Mazzola.

The company first shared photos of the face shields on Wednesday, saying that “right now, we’re all on the same team.”"
