Drug Prices Are Falling, If You Know Where to Look

Strip out the massive rebates that pharmaceutical companies must pay to access health insurers’ formularies

Letter to WSJ.

"Regarding your editorial “A Price That Isn’t Soaring: Rx Drugs” (July 15): Prescription-drug prices are actually falling if you strip out the massive and growing rebates that pharmaceutical companies must pay to access health insurers’ formularies as well as other manufacturer discounts. For the best indication of medication price deflation, check out the low costs at the new Cost Plus Drug Company, which obviates inflationary drug-supply-chain middlemen such as pharmacy-benefit managers.
