Do Taxes On Junk Food Reduce Quantity Demanded While Hotel Taxes Don't Reduce Occupamcy Rates?

It seems like some people advocate taxes on junk food to fight the obesity problem. The idea is that at least some of the tax will be passed along to the consumer and then they will eat less junk food.

Yet other people (maybe even some of the same people) advocate taxes on hotel rooms to pay for things like sports stadiums. The argument is that it will all be paid for by out of towners. But wouldn't the quantity demanded fall here as well? And then wouldn't hotels be hurt by lower sales?
